
Wonderwood Montessori School
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Principal to lead our Montessori school, guiding staff and
students in a nurturing and authentic Montessori environment. The ideal candidate will be committed
to upholding Montessori principles while ensuring compliance with educational standards and
fostering a thriving school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strong educational leadership, aligning with Montessori philosophy, curriculum, and
educational design.
Support staff and the Board in maintaining a complex learning environment that follows
Montessori principles with decisions being based with the children as central.
Role model and cultivate within the school respect, moral values, making moral decisions and
ethics.
Supervise, plan, evaluate, and coordinate school programs and activities.
Model and promote respect, ethical decision-making, and moral values within the school
community.
Lead team meetings and support the professional growth of educators.
Observe and engage with Montessori environments regularly to ensure fidelity to the
methodology.
Develop and implement strategic plans to build a healthy school community to enhance
student achievement, improve curriculum delivery, and support parental expectations.
Oversee quality assurance evaluations and ensure adherence to government regulations.
Liaise with external stake holders including but not limited to local community, government
agencies, financial institutions, educational institutions and national and international
Montessori organisations.
Drive school growth and address challenges proactively.
Requirements:
Montessori training or willingness to undertake a Montessori Leadership Course or audit a
Montessori Diploma program.
Relevant Educational qualifications to obtain Queensland teaching accreditation and
extensive teaching experience. Previous leadership experience would be preferable.
Hold the necessary compliance licenses and complete the Financial Management for
Principals online course within three months of appointment.
Strong decision-making skills, with a child-centered leadership approach achieved through
collaboration and observation.
Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities to manage curriculum, teaching matters,
and compliance requirements.
Great communication skills and ability to address and manages all members of the school
community.
