Montessori Assistant 6 – 12

 Hold or actively working towards Certificate III or Certificate IV level qualification and an
AMI Montessori 6-12 orientation certificate, or equivalent.
 Hold a Blue Card [Queensland’s Working with Children Check promoting child-safe schools]
 Support the educator to maintain the environment and Montessori principles through
encouraging children to self-select work, following uninterrupted work periods of free choice
enabling children to work at their own pace, utilising conflict resolution, physically helping
children with life activities.
 Role model respect, patience and adaptability through interactions and grace and courtesy.
 Be committed to ongoing individual and collaborative professional development in
Montessori Education, observation, critical reflection, broad awareness and scanning of the
environment and supporting children with challenges.
 Building positive respectful relationships, with colleagues, parents/ guardians, and participate
actively in the life of the school community.
